Verdict

Plenty to take into account with Chesterfield, useful on the Flat for Godolphin, one to take careful note of as he's made a smooth transition to hurdling for John Ferguson. However, there does have to be a concern about his effectiveness on soft ground and EARTH AMBER receives preference. Nicky Henderson's charge is a talented performer on the level, proven on both soft and heavy ground, but has yet to fulfil his potential over timber. Consequently, he finds himself on a most attractive mark for his handicap bow over hurdles and can start making up for lost time in the hands of the underrated David Bass. Hat-trick seeking Diamond Dame is an interesting Irish raider for Shark Hanlon, whilst Grand March, whose yard landed the opener here on Friday, is another at the foot of the weights who looks open to further progress.
