Verdict

Some of the UK and Ireland's leading amateur riders have mounts in this and it's a tricky puzzle to solve. Jamie Codd partners the hat-trick seeking Balbriggan for Gordon Elliott. Will Biddick rides the consistent Buck Mulligan but he's better over shorter. Shark Hanlon's Darenjan was only beaten a length over 3m1f at Gowran, however, and last year's runner-up Five Star Wilsham beat Smadynium over 3m at Ffos Las in May. Mickey Legg could get a tune out of Flaming Charmer but we're loathe to desert THE YOUNG MASTER. Still only a five-year-old, Neil Mulholland's charge has been in terrific form over hurdles and on the Flat and won in a canter on his chasing bow at Worcester. His inexperience is a worry over these fences but the same trainer/jockey combination won this with a very similar type in 2011.
