Verdict

PIED PIPER and Knight Salute dead-heated in a Grade 1 at Aintree in April but the former was demoted by the stewards after causing interference when hanging fire in the closing stages. However, the Elliott runner did finish ahead of his old rival in the Triumph Hurdle here in March when Doctor Parnassus was also unplaced, though the latter is not out of this receiving 8lb. Bella Scintilla and Sawbuck have a mountain to climb on these terms.
