Verdict
A tricky race to conclude the card and it might be worth chancing CULCABOCK to win it for the north, while Doeslessthanme is another raider from that region with claims and both Classic Dream and Quartano are respected. The Lucinda Russell-trained selection has course and distance winning form to his name, admittedly from a mark 12lbs lower than today's. He acts well with cut and will find this a fair bit easier than the higher graded contests that he has been involved in of late. He looks sure to be very competitive and at a likely decent price is suggested. Doeslessthanme ran with credit behind the classy Edgbriar at Doncaster last time and should be suited by the drop in trip, though he is likely to want the ground to dry a bit to be seen to best effect. Conversely, Quartano scored twice over further on heavy ground earlier in the season and Warren Greatrex would welcome any further rain for his gelding, who will be better suited by today's company than when contesting the Grade 1 Challow at Newbury last time. Classic Dream takes a further step up in class in search of his hat-trick, so has a bit to prove, and the same applies to Mickmacmagoole. Takeroc goes well when fresh but is hard to win with and has plenty of racing weight and we prefer the claims of Culcabock.
