Verdict

A watch the market race where IRON VELVET is offered up as our selection in the absence of it though Red Badge and The Confessor also are of interest. Mark Johnston's team have carried all before them in recent weeks and while this well bred son of Dubawi may be better in time, connections look to have been waiting a weak opportunity to start off with. Red Badge is one of two runners for Richard Hannon and is the mount of Eddie Ahern. The son of Captain Rio is entered up in a number of the top juvenile sales races. The Confessor is bred for plenty of speed. Surprisingly, he is only Henry Candy's fourth juvenile runner of the campaign. Avon Grounds is a son of useful performer, Avonbridge. Glass Of Red was desperately green on debut and can be expected to have improved significantly. Trelawny Wells faced a tough task on debut against Radiohead though was comprehensively accounted for at Goodwood. Bazsharani has ran well at Chester on two starts thus far and can be expected to trailblaze this evening. Slice has had a sizeable absence following a promising debut at Bath. Carnaby Street cost 50000 guineas as a yearling and may be one to note for next year. Iron Velvet gets the vote.
