Verdict

A race little better than plating fare and STARSTRUCK PETER is the speculative pick at the expense of Drawn Gold and Corrib. The selection has improved a little over hurdles for new connections and having exhibited a modicum of form in his early days in Ireland, it could be that he is capable of taking advantage of tonight's mark of 52. Drawn Gold beat Jackie Kiely when the pair met at Warwick. Given a positive ride, he would have obvious claims if able to cope with the different going tonight. Corrib appears to get on well with Cathy Gannon but tonight sees David Probert in the saddle. The market is watched. Gannon rides the unexposed Little Sark for David Evans. Flexible Friend and Bolton Hall are both better known under National Hunt rules rather than on the level. Lady Jinks is moderate though she does act on a fast surface and with Eddie Ahern aboard, it would be no surprise to see her go close. Not a race to linger over for too long and Starstruck Peter can only be offered up as the most token of selections.
