In depth
Verdict
Rated 90 at his best on the flat, Random Quest made an encouraging start to his hurdling career when a fair fourth behind The Cool Guy at Uttoxeter and is taken to open his account with the main threats expected to be Argent Ou Or and Tom Bell. The last mentioned disappointed at Cheltenham last time but will be suited by today's softer ground so it would come as no surprise to see him out up an improved display today. Just A Splash is lightly raced and hails from a yard in form so warrants respect along with Jim Old's French import Future Legend. Tytheknot was well held on his hurdling debut but is entitled to come on for the run, although a bigger threat is likely to come from Martin Pipe's Bumper winner Argent Ou Or, who could be of interest on his return. Random Quest may not be as good as he was on the flat but is clearly a decent recruit and he should take all the beating.
