Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

The four-year-old Elsafeer may struggle under the penalty for his win at Market Rasen in February and preference in a typically difficult bumper is for DINGAT, who gets the nod over Panda Bay. Emma Lavelle's gelding made a promising debut on testing ground at Warwick in January and he would have every chance if handling the faster surface today. Jennie Candlish's Barafundle has run well in both starts so far and should again be thereabouts, while Foolish Cliche is another with a penalty that may struggle to defy the extra weight. Mister Stickler has shown some promise in his two starts and has to be considered with Alan King's team in good form, while the Philip Hobbs-trained Sinco Jones is probably the pick of the newcomers. Marginal preference in a trappy looking finale though is for Tim Vaughan's Dingat, who ran well on his debut at Hereford and comes form a yard that has done well with their runners in this company.
