Verdict

MANCHESTERMAVERICK is selected ahead of Lordship and Cheap Street. A high draw could be the place to be this afternoon and all credit to Travis Block last time out for winning despite a bad draw at Brighton. Matthew Cosham is yet to ride a winner under rules but that is factored into his ability to claim 7lbs so we will take him on trust. Jake Payne did win aboard Lordship at Ayr. The pair obliged in a similar event at Ayr and off the same terms, it would be no surprise to see the punters promoting him to favouritism. Cheap Street is not devoid of ability. His recent run behind Cadeaux Fax was disappointing not least as he had performed so well off a 2lb higher mark at Salisbury. The City Kid was entitled to need his first run back so watch the market to see what is anticipated from this seven furlong specialist. Mocha Java is much better on the artificial surfaces than the turf though Matthew Salaman has gone to the trouble of booking one of the more experienced apprentices. S P Ryan is able to claim 6lb in this contest and Ron Harris has booked him aboard Charlie Delta. Northern Desert is a regular in plating company though would have made considerably more appeal were this race on an artificial surface. Manchestermaverick is selected.
