Verdict
A fairly trappy handicap despite the small field, but Look First is just taken to get the better of the lightly-raced Tom Paddington and the hat trick-seeking Decisive. The latter benefited from an enterprising ride from Eddie Ahern, making all of the running to land a handicap at Kempton, with Look First nearly eight lengths away in sixth. However, the selection now enjoys a five pound pull in the weights and as Chepstow is not the easiest of tracks for front-runners, is fancied to reverse the form. Look First had earlier finished a good fifth in the Queen's Prize, and a reproduction of that form could be good enough here. Tom Paddington is an eight-year-old who has clearly had his training problems but is with the right man in Hugh Morrison, and if he can improve on his reappearance fourth at Newbury recently he would have strong claims here.
