In depth

Verdict

Bladoun was only beaten a head in a bumper here in February and you'd expect David Pipe to find him a race over hurdles sooner rather than later. But normal progress should see ROGER BEANTOWN in the winner's enclosure following his second to The New One at Newton Abbot. He was beaten 26 lengths but the winner is clearly very useful and, on the evidence of a subsequent win at Cheltenham, likely to take high rank among this season's novice crop. Orabora may need this but still has more scope than the disappointing Ron and Saroque.
