Verdict
LAVA LAMP has enough ability to take the opener, while Forest Runner and Hunting Tartan look likely to be revved up for their debuts. The selection has, typically of a Mark Johnston trained runner, taken a run or two to reach fever pitch. This step up to 7f will suit the Shamardal colt, as will conditions, and he can now show his true worth with success. Godolphin's juveniles have had a red hot campaign and despite the experience of the selection we are still concerned about the newcomer Forest Runner. A half-brother to the classy juvenile Penkenna Princess, this trip looks an ideal starting point and he is likely to know his job well enough to make a big impact. The same goes for Hunting Tartan, who is trained by John Gosden and related to a juvenile winner over 1m. Fast ground will also suit the son of Oasis Dream and he should show up well. Yabtree is from useful stock and is probably capable of having a say given his yard's two-year-old record this time around, while of the others with experience Seaside Sizzler may prove the best. Lava Lamp can light the way.
