MITRA JAAN is narrowly preferred here to The Mumbo, Aegean Shadow and Brooksby. Walter Swinburn's filly is slowly edging down the weights to what looks a decent mark. She was far from disgraced at Windsor last time out and she has a good fourth on this surface to her name from this time last year. The Mumbo, like the selection, comes here after a mini-break, and a visor is employed for the first time. She was a surprise winner at Lingfield in January but on the face of it her mark looks a tad high. Aegean Shadow also caused an upset when storming home at 33/1 on her debut at Leicester. She steps up in trip today and she should have no problems with the trip on breeding. Markhesa is capable of better, Gordy Bee ran his best race for a while when third to King's Colour last time, whilst Brooksby is a consistent filly who has a course and distance win to her name. Also scoring high on the consistency chart is Iron Out, whilst Uncle Brit and Captain Flasheart need watching in the betting with the former trying blinkers for the first time. An open affair to begin the card, however it is Mitra Jaan who just edges the vote.
