In depth

Verdict

A classy looking maiden in which the once-raced GOLDEN SHAHEEN can top the bill; the supporting acts may be stablemate Saboteur and Kingston Acacia. The selection looked very green on his debut at Ayr last month and he didn't seem to be relishing the soft ground. Now on this more consistent surface, the feeling is that he should run a big race and jockey bookings point to him being the number one hope. Stablemate Saboteur steps up in trip today following a debut fourth at Newmarket. He was neglected in the betting that day but ran a very promising race and he should improve further over this trip. Robust Wish needs watching in the betting for support as the stables debutant winners are often prominent in the betting, Kingston Acacia shaped with promise on her debut at Lingfield when very green, whilst Fallen Idol is bred to come into his own over middle distance next year. During The War also comes from a family that were better at three, so of more interest today may be the Jeremy Noseda pair. Carnacki's dam was a Listed race winner as a two-year-old although we are yet to see many of the sire's first crop on the racecourse. Godolphin are three out of eight with their juveniles at the track this season and they might have another winner with Golden Shaheen.
