Verdict

All of these are hard to get right and the selection of Saucy is made with a degree of trepidation as the likes of Got To Be Cash, Cool For Jade and Lucky Archer all have claims in a modest contest like this. The last named is getting a little long in the tooth to be expecting a vastly improved effort and he it has to be bourne in mind that he is on a long losing sequence. Therefore, support for Ian Williams' charge may be best limited to each way support today. The same comments apply to Cool For Jade, who is unexposed on turf and, as she has fewer questions to answer regarding her stamina than most, can go close off this sort of mark. Got To Be Cash has to be high on the list as the top weight in a bad race. The Mark Brisbourne-trained mare will appreciate the test of endurance and has every chance of making her first visit to Chepstow a winning one if events unfold to suit her style of running. However, she has a very poor wins to runs ratio and is not one to rely upon too heavily in a finish. Therefore, we switch our attention to Saucy, who is a lightly raced four-year-old that tries her hand at this level for the first time. As a half-sister to reliable 10-furlong performer, Most Saucy, the selection was entitled to need a little time to find her feet as a racehorse. And, considering that the highest rating on offer here is just 55, Saucy makes plenty of appeal as the one to beat; even though her own rating of 46 means that confidence is at a minimum is such a low-grade affair.
