Verdict
With question marks over the forecast market leaders, Pay The Silver and Mythical King, a chance is taken with Taffy Dancer, who is entitled to improve for his recent return at Newbury. A three-length winner off a mark of 40 at Brighton on fast ground over a year ago, Taffy Dancer raced just once again last term when mid-division over 1m6f at Beverley. Following a 12-month absence, Hugh Morrison's gelding was given a quiet introduction on his comeback at Newbury and, with that run likely to have blown away any cobwebs, he may be worth a small investment in a moderate contest where conditions are likely to suit. Pay The Silver is yet to prove that he stays this far, while winning hurdler Mythical King would probably prefer a softer surface. Willoughby's Boy often flatters to deceive and, although taking the eye last time, he is one that the bookmakers will be only too happy to lay. While better treated now than for some time, Mick Channon's El Pedro remains badly out of form and one to watch rather than bet on and of more interest is Yarmouth fourth Ballare.
