Verdict

John Gosden has some solid lines on innovation and the Manton-based handler is taken to get on over on Roger Charlton and the official assessor with Skibereen. The Ashkalani colt has taken time to come to hand but put in his most encouraging effort to date at Lingfield last time out. The three-year-old was still there with every chance with two furlongs to run but appeared to run out of steam as they approached the distance. However, that was run at a fairly good clip, which may not have suited Gosden's charge on that occasion. In contrast, this may prove to be a match of tactics and if Jimmy Fortune can gain control of the pace, he may be able to save enough of a finishing flourish to get Skibereen home today. Emily Dee should run her race but looks to have an impossible task at the weights.
