In depth

Verdict

The 2m5f at Wetherby last month proved just too far for Magic Dancer, who was run down close home. He must have a good chance of going one better today having only been raised a pound as he’s not got many miles on the clock. Celestial Magic has won at Warwick and Towcester since the turn of the year and gets on well with Daniel Hiskett. But he’s climbing the weights and forecast conditions are also a bit of a worry. DIAMOND FORT makes his handicap debut after a couple of promising efforts in novice and maiden company at Hereford. He starts off on a generous-looking mark of 114 and gets the vote to improve past more-exposed rivals. Ozzy Thomas would have each-way claims but Vendredi Trois returns from a break and Rafafie is 6lb higher and taking on better company after winning here last month.
