Verdict
But for stumbling at the final flight Wiscalitus would probably have maintained his unbeaten record over hurdles and is fancied to reverse Towcester form with Kingston Town, while Oscars Vision is rated the best of the remainder. The selection has looked a useful recruit to the novice hurdling ranks when making a winning debut at Market Rasen in August and he will not be the last horse to not show his best form at Towcester. Considering their respective ratings on the flat, Kingston Town did remarkably well to finish in front of the Venetia Williams-trained gelding last time. He has to be respected but it is unlikely that he will be allowed to get so close to the ex-French gelding this afternoon. Newbury bumper winner Oscars Vision only went down by a short head to Honest Endeavour at Uttoxeter on his return earlier this month and has an obvious chance. He makes more appeal than Nick Gifford's Alpine Star, who has along absence to overcome. Robert Alner's Bowleaze, a bumper winner at Exeter, showed ability on his only start over timber last term and is another to consider along with the consistent pair of Call Me Anything and Power Bird. Wiscalitus sets a decent standard though and gets the vote to resume winning ways.
