    In depth

Gentle George reversed earlier Huntingdon form with Freddies Return when scoring over a longer trip at Warwick last time and should be prominent again. Double Bank has been a prolific winner between the flags this season and may have improved since last racing under Rules while Catch The Rascal is another recent point-to-point winner. But KIRKLEIGH should take all the beating if reproducing the form he showed when outpointing Combe Hill at Wincanton in January. Both the third and fourth have won since. Veterans Benefit Night and The Bosses Nephew may be found wanting again.

Benefit Night (IRE) 25-1 (11-13) Led, not fluent 5th, weakened before 10th, tailed off when pulled up after 4 out, in a race won by Cottage Oak (11-13) at Haydock 3m hts chs (4) hvy in Feb, 10 ran.

Kirkleigh 6-1 (11-9) Mid-division, not fluent 7th or 8th, headway before next, challenged after 3 out, led next, clear last, all out, won at Wincanton 3m 1f hts chs (6) hvy in Jan beating Coombe Hill (12-3) by 7l, 14 ran.

The Bosses Nephew (IRE) 20-1 (12-1) Soon with leaders, went 2nd after 3rd until 7th, chased leaders, hit 10th, driven and outpaced in 3rd after 4 out, no chance with leading duo, weakened to 4th well before next, 4th of 6, 35l behind Benedictus (11-7) at Taunton 2m 7f hts chs (5) sft in Feb.

Gentle George 5-1 (11-7) Led and disputed, outright leader approaching 4th, made rest, mistake 3 out, stayed on gamely, driven out, won at Warwick 3m 2f hts chs (6) sft beating Freddies Return (12-2) by 5l, 6 ran.
