In depth
Verdict
Not much strength in depth in this and Desert Lord is taken to land a quick double for Sir Michael Stoute and Fergal Lynch. The Green Desert colt has shown more than enough to suggest a maiden should come his way and he is taken to see off Great Game, who may do better in handicaps. Helms Deep ran with plenty of credit in the valuable Sales race at Doncaster, having been drawn on the wrong side. He was the first home on the far side that day and is capable of a bold show in this, while the best of the newcomers could be Najaaba, who comes from the same family as the useful Emperor Jones.
