In depth
Verdict
Coventina showed enough promise on her latest start to suggest she is capable of winning this type of race and can prevail ahead of the newcomer Chambray and the Queen's Holly Walk. The selection ran a better race than expected when finishing third at Folkestone earlier this month, only losing second place close home. She should be able to improve on that effort and with Jimmy Fortune an interesting jockey booking she looks to be the call in the face of generally poor opponents. Chambray is by far the best bred of this field being closely related to Hidden Meadow, Passing Glance and Kingsclere. Whether she will be capable on her debut remains to be seen though the distance will suit and she is expected to act on the ground. The market should best provide a guide to her chances. Though not showing much on her debut, Holly Walk is Richard Hannon choice from two entered at the five day stage and as ever his juveniles are always respected. Coventina remains the selection to put her racecourse experience to good use.
