Verdict
O'Faolains Boy is an interesting outsider for next month's Cheltenham Gold Cup and this could be a pipe-opener for that. A number of these would possibly have been more at home on the chase course including Kings Palace, Allez Vic and the 2014 Grand National winner Pineau De Re, though the latter did win over hurdles at Carlisle in December. The Paul Nicholls pair, Southfield Vic and Arpege D'alene, are back hurdling having failed to take to the larger obstacles. Awaywiththegreys always seems to run well here and is bidding for a fourth course and distance victory while The Boss's Dream has won his last three handicaps, though has been bumped up another 9lb. ABRICOT DE L'OASIS has only raced over 3m once before but should last home with Bridget Andrews' claim a plus. He's been in good form lately and could represent some value in a wide-open contest. Batavir is dangerously well handicapped but hard to catch right.
