Verdict

RENARD can repeat last year's victory in this off a 6lb higher mark. The drop back in trip on soft ground should help and he's yet to finish out of the frame here in five previous visits. It would be no surprise to see Shoegazer go well on his return from a lengthy absence while Majala has the past form to figure. Exeter scorer Ultragold and the in-form Headly's Bridge are others to consider but it's a surprise to see Deputy Dan in a handicap so early in his chase career and he'll have to jump better than he did when disappointing at Exeter. Anay Turge is back on a winning mark but was beaten 20 lengths when second over a shorter trip here on his latest outing.
