Verdict

Sir Mark Prescott has his team in great form at present but his representative Uncle Brit could not be worse drawn than in stall 13 and it may be worth taking a chance with BESSIE LOU first time in a handicap with Hypnotic Gaze rated the best of the rest. The selection was slightly disappointing in a Doncaster maiden last time but that was on fast ground and on pedigree and earlier form, the softer surface today should suit Kevin Ryan's filly a lot better and she looks worth siding with. Moon Lightning ran better at York last time and has every chance if staying this longer trip that he tackles for the first time today. Vita Mia has harshly been raised 5lbs for her narrow win at Folkestone last time and of more interest may be Mark Brisbourne's recent course and distance winner Carter, although he would want the ground to dry out. Hypnotic Gaze lost no caste in defeat behind Sir Mark Prescott's Speed Dating at Carlisle on his latest start and has solid claims off the same mark but preference is for Bessie Lou, who looks well treated for his debut in a handicap provided that the ground remains on the soft side.
