GABRIAL THE WIRE has won three times around here and at a much higher level. He ended the last campaign with a victory at Doncaster and still looks on a fair mark. Broken Spear won this a year ago from a 1lb lower mark though hasn't been in that kind of form and though Ffion was consistent on Turf last summer her two victories have come at Wolverhampton. Smeaton's Light made a very positive comeback at Leicester but Big Narstie didn't appear to enjoy the fast going when odds-on at Wetherby.
