    In depth

    Verdict

King's Crest is scheduled to run at Doncaster on Saturday so may be a doubtful runner here. Sequential beat a group-placed runner in a Redcar Maiden last time and is clearly one who is progressing the right way. She is yet to encounter a surface or track like this but 82 may prove to be a cautious handicap mark. Vicious Prince drops back in class today. He hasn't sparkled of late but the stable looks to be coming back to form and he does at least have the benefit of form in the book. Aker Wood took a handicap over course and distance in May but has been woefully out of form since. Octane has struggled off his current handicap mark for some time and is best watched at present.
