        Verdict

        The draw has been kind to Asiatic and, assuming that he takes the step up in trip in his stride, he could take plenty of pegging back today. The Roger Charlton-trained Rarefied and the unexposed filly, Marine City, are others to place high on the shortlist, while Dumfries has a fair chance of reversing the form with the first named on these terms and any market confidence will be significant. However, Asiatic hails from a yard that excels with horses of his profile and the step up to this distance should bring the best out of him. The anticipated cut in the ground should also not be a problem for Asiatic and a bold bid is expected.
