      Verdict

A wide open contest gets proceedings under way and many can be given chances on there best form. Santando, Double Obcession and Midas Way are all sure to have there supporters but we prefer to take a chance on Shingles. The gelding from the Nick Litmoden yard has been in fine form of late winning his last four races, and although he has risen in the weights he will be hard to beat from the plum draw. Santando rates the main danger he was a good third behind Harcourt and a reproduction of that form would see him go close. Double Obsession won well at Ayr before disappointing last time however that was on heavy ground and if the rain stays away he could go well at a fair price. Midas Way won his maiden in good style and he is from a shrewd yard so he could be anything. The market may prove the best guide as to what is expected. Of the remainder Trust Rule is from a yard that does well here and is worth a cautionary look in the market.
