Verdict

Racecourse experience could count here as any slow start will ruin chances, so therefore the two to concentrate on appear to be Bookiebasher Dude and Dark Angel with the tentative vote going to the last-named. With the stable in form, Barry Hill's colt can land this if ridden a bit more prominently that on debut. He has a good draw in two and with the experience of that run under his belt, he gets the nod. The form of Bookiebasher Dude's debut has been franked by the winner scoring again at Salisbury on Sunday. The worry is that he lost several lengths at the start that day and if doing so again, it will be hard to recover from his wide draw. Maracana Boy and Eastern Romance are both entitled to come on plenty for their debuts, whilst Elusive Deal and Eileen's Violet are the two newcomers to watch in the market although the former may need further in time. A trappy finale in which Dark Angle gets the nomination.
