        Verdict

        Argentello looked a certain future winner when narrowly beaten at Doncaster but failed to build on that promise at Newmarket where he faded inside the final furlong. Baritone returned after a break to finish runner-up at Leicester where he didn't enjoy the heavy going. He can do better while Chief Ironside probably needed his comeback at Newbury and his pedigree suggests this longer trip is in his favour. Soldier To Follow has been narrowly beaten in two minor maidens and will need more but the 450,000gns Sea The Stars colt HOWMAN caught the eye in what looked a strong maiden at HQ last month and can advertise his Epsom claims.
