    Verdict

Millennium Force gets the call over Vanderlin and Makhlab in this conditions event. Millennium Force goes unpenalised for a Group 3 victory, and as the six-year-old has not won for over a year, receives a three-pound allowance. Therefore Mick Channon's charge, who is very well treated, goes on the track and will not mind the ground, appears to hold all the aces. He lines up on the back of a cracking effort in Group 3 company at Longchamp a fortnight ago and with a fair draw in stall four, should be followed here. His main rival could be Vanderlin who had the distinction of beating Monsieur Bond in Listed company at York last August and goes well over this trip. His overall form is not quite as good as that of the selection though, while Makhlab, winner of the Horris Hill at Newbury two years ago, may struggle to confirm Haydock placings with the Channon runner on three-pound worse terms. Millennium Force has a lot going for him and is taken to come good.
