Serena Brotherton won the first running of this last year and her mount here, Ballymount, ran well at Leicester last month on his reappearance. However, a high draw won't be a help and Joanna Mason, who rode him that day, can go one better than she did a year ago on board COVIGLIA, who ran his best race for some time when a close third at Beverley last month. Redarna is an obvious threat from stall one as he completed a double before stepping up in class from a higher mark at Carlisle where he looked a few pounds high in the weights. Humble Gratitude has run well around here and has been competing at a higher level though a wide draw tempers enthusiasm. The booking of the excellent Ireland-based Lisa O'Neill for Bell Heather catches the eye though her mount has never won around here in a dozen starts.
