Verdict

The shortlist for the opener contains Indigo Nights, Godfrey Street, Amber Glory and Scooby Dude, with the vote going to the first-named. Indigo Nights keeps on progressing and her form is working out as well. She would appear to hold solid claims, while Godfrey Street also progressed from his debut to win on the all-weather last time, and the runner-up there will by now have run yesterday. Amber Glory had shown progressive form, certainly good enough for this level, until being found out in the Queen Mary Stakes, but she too is entitled to respect. Scooby Dude was also found out at Royal Ascot at York but, based on a very good second to Tous les Deux at Windsor the time before that, he holds very good claims here. Finally, Smart Pick disappointed here last time, although that was from a poor draw, but based on her previous second to City For Conquest, would hold claims. However, overall, we will just side with Indigo Nights.
