In depth
Verdict
Dubai Typhoon, Zabeel Tower and Macs Ransom are all interesting newcomers but Arminius suggested that this trip would suit on his debut and, with the Richard Hannon yard beginning to come into form, he is taken to open his account. The selection was outpaced over five furlongs at Sandown on his debut and gave the impression that today's longer trip would suit. With the stable's juveniles suddenly hitting form, there is every reason to believe that the son of Shinko Forest will improve significantly for that run and he looks the one to beat. Dubai Typhoon is a well bred individual but Clive Brittain's youngsters normally need the run first time out and of more interest may be Mick Channon's Anabaa colt Zabeel Tower, who hails from a yard that has done well with their juveniles this term. Neville Callaghan's Macs Ransom has the assistance of Frankie Dettori and has to be respected, while Sterling Magic may need the run as most of Peter Chapple-Hyam's runners have looked in need of their first start. The Buck showed promise last time and is another to consider but Arminius showed enough on his debut to suggest that he would take plenty of beating.
