In depth

Verdict

This is a wide open contest and Pretty Majestic and Crystal Clear have obvious claims, but Blue Rocket has the potential to be Group class and she gets the vote. It was hard not to be impressed with the debut victory of Blue Rocket, who was slightly outpaced over a furlong out but picked up well to lead inside the final furlong for quite a decisive success over the decent Tudor Prince. Whether or not she proves up to justifying her entry in the Cheveley Park Stakes, she could not have made a much better start to her career and should improve for the experience. Pretty Majestic ran third behind the improving Ponty Rossa last time and that is solid handicap form. Meanwhile Crystal Clear was a game winner at Goodwood last time and looks on the upgrade. The best of the rest could be Yerevan, but Blue Rocket could be a bit special and she just edges the decision.
