In depth

Verdict

After only finding one too good in his first three starts, ECHOES OF HISTORY was well backed to get off the mark over a longer trip in a Dundalk maiden last month. In the end, he could only manage a one-paced fifth but there is no real evidence to suggest he didn't get home and David Wachman's colt is unlikely to find an easier opportunity than this to break his duck. The yard could easily supply the first two as Pinsplitter, a half-brother to Group 3 winner The Bogberry, should appreciate this step up in distance and might be sharpened up by first-time blinkers. Peaks Of Fire also dons the blinds for the first time having finished second over a longer trip at Tramore back in June but he'd shown little over this sort of distance previously.
