Verdict

GLENS MELODY was unbeaten in bumpers but found Minsk more than eight lengths too good on her hurdling debut at Punchestown. That was no disgrace, however, as the winner finished a close-up fourth in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse on Sunday - compensation awaits here. Last month's C&D runner-up Miss Palm may be next best again as Queen Of The Hill has to concede weight all round courtesy of her victory at Downpatrick in July. Lady Boulea was behind the latter at Thurles last time and recent points winner Sophies Shadow may have more scope. Paul Townend is certainly an interesting jockey booking for Edward Hales' five-year-old.
