Verdict

Ambitious Fellow is penalised for an impressive victory in a Fairyhouse bumper when Free Nelson, who attempted to make all, was well beaten. The latter had run well over hurdles previously but the positions should be confirmed. Coconut Tudor was narrowly beaten on his debut here but was weakening when falling on a return visit. MAHLERS DOLLAR (NAP) looked like winning at Cork when taking the lead at the last but was run out of it in the closing stages with Hardy Bloke a long way behind. The winner has subsequently landed a Listed race so the form looks strong enough for this. General Clermont has been a beaten favourite in three successive handicaps but not beaten far in any but Rebel Ivy looked well suited to 2m4f on heavy ground at Wexford so could find this on the short side.
