MAAREK made a successful reappearance when beating today's rival Scream Blue Murder in a Listed contest last season and went on to glory in the Prix L'Abbaye at Longchamp. He's changed stables and has a Group 1 penalty to carry this season but this isn't the toughest of races and he can make a winning return. Smoothtalkinrascal began last season in excellent form, winning twice. He performed in much better company later in the campaign and was never disgraced so this looks more his grade. Bold Thady Quill won this a year ago and has been running well over longer trips subsequently. He has the advantage of fitness while Morning Frost, a dual winner in France, is on the short-list on her first start for Michael Halford.
