In depth

Verdict

Caesar Rock has now had six starts over fences without winning though he's come up against some smart novices. He was beaten nine lengths by IDAS BOY over hurdles at Thurles in November and Noel Meade's charge looks a useful prospect for chasing. Dual hurdles winner Gua Du Large was beaten a long way on his chasing bow at Gowran though is expected to have come on markedly for the experience but stablemate Watch House Cross, a winning point-to-pointer and hurdler, burst a blood vessel on his chasing debut and fell at Listowel last month. Grade 3 winning hurdler The Goffer looks the type to make a decent chaser and can get competitive in an interesting little race.
