Verdict

A high-class renewal and a fascinating clash between Epsom heroine Dancing Rain, runner-up WONDER OF WONDERS, and unlucky fourth and Newmarket 1000 Guineas winner Blue Bunting. Johnny Murtagh appeared to steal the Oaks with a brilliant front-running ride and the slow time suggests he's unlikely to get away with a similar performance here. The runner-up couldn't match the winner's genuine pace but a couple of pacemakers here will ensure a strong gallop and Ryan Moore should make the best of her stamina. It wasn't Frankie Dettori's finest hour at Epsom as he allowed Blue Bunting to lose her place in the straight and it took an age for her to get going off such a slow pace. He then dropped his hands and lost third place so he'll be very anxious to put matters straight here. Laughing Lashes has proved herself at the highest level over a mile but this is something else while Jim Bolger has worked wonders with Ribblesdale winner Banimpire and she may not have finished yet.
