Verdict

FAMOUS NAME won this in 2009 and can get back to winning ways after finding So You Think and Campanologist too strong in the Tattersalls Gold Cup over 1m3f here when Mid Mon Lady was well beaten. Elusive Pimpernel, runner-up to St Nicholas Abbey in the 2009 Racing Post Trophy and winner of the following year's Craven Stakes, is taking his time to regain his form after injury so Jan Vermeer, who looked to be slowly working his way back to his best before a poor attempt at making the pace for So You Think at Ascot, will probably provide the main threat as stablemate Last Crusade was beaten in a Listed race at Limerick last time.
