In depth

Verdict

Value Chain couldn't handle Red Epaulette in the season's opener on soft ground at Naas but had the remainder well beaten and the 6lb he receives from LATIN FIVE should enable him to get into contention. But the latter was always in the front rank in what looked a strong maiden at Navan last week and stayed on strongly. He'll know much more today and looks the one to beat. Daughter In Law couldn't quicken behind Lorelei Rock and Air Force Jet at Naas but that was a good performance and she's in here on a fair weight. The latter remark also applies to Glow Worm, who was in front of her when runner-up at Dundalk last time where she was staying on strongly. Piece Of Paradise, who is closely related to five winners, could prove best of the newcomers.
