In depth
Verdict
Modern Games could only manage third upped in trip for the French Derby but won the French 2,000 Guineas before that when Texas and Tribalist filled the places. LUSAIL is still improving having gone close in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Ascot last time and finding only the subsequent Commonwealth Cup winner Perfect Power too good over 7f in the Greenham at Newbury earlier. Another bold bid is expected from the Hannon colt in this. Both New Energy and Light Infantry have plenty to find with the selection but the Ballydoyle filly Tenebrism may improve for this drop back down in trip and the French 1,000 Guineas winner Mangoustine and the progressive Razgar can't be ignored in an open-looking renewal.
