In depth

Verdict

Romanised and stablemate Success Days failed to figure in last year’s renewal and there’s a suspicion the former would prefer faster going having landed a Group 2 at the Curragh last month. Line Of Duty failed to see out the trip in the Derby and returns to a mile for the first time since winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at the end of last year. Study Of Man returned a beaten favourite in Group 3 company back over a mile here last time though is still preferred to new stable companion Vocal Music while Shaman finished ahead of Graignes when runner-up in the French 2000 Guineas and failed to get a clear run in the St James’s Palace Stakes in June. WATCH ME returned the 20/1 winner of the Coronation Stakes at Ascot on her latest outing. But that was no fluke as she’d looked unlucky in the French 1000 Guineas before that and there looks more to come from Francis-Henri Graffard’s progressive filly.
