Verdict
Though Springfield Scally has the best form in the race the selection is Slooghy who is less exposed and looks very much on the upgrade in light of previous runs including a fine victory at Newbury three weeks ago. The trip and ground should suit and the jockey booking looks positive. Springfield Scally has been in good form of late though her best runs have come on a softened surface. Still, she is a model of consistency and will not let supporters down in terms of effort. Young American is respected and has some useful form in the past. However his recent efforts suggested there may have been a problem and is best watched here. The Granby is another who has useful form in the book but can put in some stinkers. Depending what mood he is in he has a chance but is not one to really trust.
