Verdict

This is not the ideal getting-out stakes with 20 runners, many of whom are returning from a break, ridden by apprentices of varying experience and ability. Megan Nicholls rides Volpone Jelois, who won four times on the level in France and was successful in a maiden hurdle at Taunton in December for Paul Nicholls. Boychick has been flying on the all-weather since the turn of the year but is 21lb higher than when last seen on Turf. We'll Shake Hands won twice last summer but hasn’t been seen since August while Bahamian C generally struggles to get his head in front, though finished ahead of MATCH MY FIRE in an amateur riders’ race here in October. The latter was probably given much to do that day, however, and could be capable of better having only had seven career starts.
