      Verdict

ICELANDIC is taken to get the better of Ancien Regime and Peace Offering in a tricky Listed contest where the ground may be key. Ancien Regime comes from the Godolphin camp, successful at Goodwood on Thursday, and he has been running well in the main, though he was outclassed in his most recent start. His best form has come on a fast surface, and the recent rain will not have helped his cause. Peace Offering is a versatile performer, who can handle extremes of ground. He was made favourite at Newmarket last time, but was outpaced by the selection in the closing stages and may have to play second fiddle again. Icelandic won a similar contest here at the end of last year in similar conditions, and although highly tried since, he has failed to score again. His best effort came last time at Headquarters, on the easy surface he prefers, and Icelandic can prove worth an investment.
