Mohi went close at Kempton last month and is preferred to Gorak while Perseverants has been thereabouts on the all-weather though stablemate King Of York is preferred on this surface. Golden Melody won on a soft surface last year while Cold Stare is at home on the ground though rarely wins nowadays. But the latter’s stable companion ASCOT ADVENTURE is back on a winning mark having scored in this grade at Haydock early last year and David O’Meara’s new charge may prove the one to side with.
